(AUDIO!!) BP played David Bowie?

Not a song a glam-rocker extraordinaire David Bowie, but the climactic four-word Phish song. And saying that Brothers Past actually played the song is a bit inaccurate. However, they did play the triumphantly raging end to the song coming out of "Inhale", this past Sunday night, April 23, 2006, at the River Street Jazz Cafe in Wilkes-Barre, PA. (Incidentally, I also hear a melody somewhat reminiscent of Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine" near the middle of the tune.)

Longtime fans of the bad are talking this show up pretty heavily, claiming it one of the best ever. Time will tell on that account, but this version of Inhale has to heard to be believed.

Brothers Past - "Inhale" (thanks, archive.org!)

I recommend listening to the whole thing to see how it builds, but for the impatient, a quick fast forward to the six minute mark will get you where you want to be.

I'm just putting up this one track, but the whole show is available here for your listening pleasure.

If you haven't heard Brothers Past yet, you should. They're currently tearing across the country on a national tour, and will be hitting many major festivals this summer: all while writing and recording the follow-up to their uber-excellent album This Feeling's Called Goodbye (which was nominated for a Jammy in the best Studio Album category but was robbed by Mike and Leo's latest effort.)
